Member of the Month – Jeannine!

Congratulations Jeannine (aka JZ!)!

Once a month, our community votes to recognize a single member who embodies the spirit of Subversus Fitness. He/she is someone who has a good attitude, even on the toughest days, is always there to lend support to fellow athletes, and generally goes the extra mile to help build our community to become even more awesome. When it’s time to vote, we send a reminder email out to the entire crew, but if you ever see another member do something really cool for you or the gym in general, feel free to shoot us an email at info@crossfitcc.com or leave a note in the box to tell us what happened! Our Member of the Month is always awarded a FREE month of membership to Subversus.

What some of you had to say about JZ!

Jeannine is the best! She is so strong and such a great rower, she is a total inspiration. Not to mention that she does all pullups and chest to bar pullups workouts strict – which is insane!

Working out with her at the occasional 4:30 and Dawn Patrol is always a good time and I’m so glad she finally won MOTM. She deserves it as an OG member!

— – Dani F.

This is so deserved! JZ is one of the strongest women in the gym and also one of the hardest working! She is totally my gym idol not just because her back squat is so amazing, but also because she is always working on her weaknesses. This type of work ethic makes her such an incredible athlete. On top of that, she’s very supportive of other members and pushes others to be their best too! Way to go JZ!

— Amber S.

Congrats to Jeanine! She’s always a hard worker in the gym and has an amazing positive attitude. Also, she’s super strong and is getting so much stronger! She’s made a ton of progress recently on her gymnastics movements and can do more strict pull ups and chest to bar in a workout than I could ever dream of doing. Well deserved!

— Katherine D.

I’m thrilled JZ is member of the month! She is such a hard worker and so amazingly super strong! Working out alongside her, I feel like I definitely am able to push myself more. She’s also so supportive and encouraging of everyone else in class. I love having her as part of the 430 crew 🙂

— Dan E.

Wow! I am more thrilled that JZ won MOTM than I was when I won! Jeannine is my idol. She is THE assassin of our gym and she never fails to absolutely destroy just about every and any workout thrown her way. She comes in with a game face and just when I think I am keeping up, she just takes off! JZ is my gym hero.

Watch her on a rower (always trying to beat you here!) or silently destroying burpees, wall balls or anything else with such poise and grace. OH. And she’s done Murph rx with strict pull ups. She is a true goddess on earth. She works on her strengths and weaknesses and truly is amazing!

During my time at the gym I have been lucky enough to take so many classes with JZ. From 4:30 WODs, OLY 101, Dawn Patrol, Gymnastics and currently Powerlifting, she is always working on bettering herself! She inspires me to push a little harder and lift a little heavier each and everyday. Thanks for the inspiration JZ! Keep on doing you❤️❤️

— Alexa

You don’t always have to have the loudest voice in the room to be considered a leader. With her quiet strength, Jeannine is someone I can look to not only for advice, but for support and encouragement on a daily basis. She is always willing to share her knowledge and help others grow, and that speaks volumes. I admire her confidence and the way she absolutely attacks a workout; she’s a brilliant and smart athlete and I can’t wait to see what she’ll conquer next. That being said this member of the month is well deserved. Congrats Jeannine! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you in our 4:30 class and have loved having someone to struggle with during double under practice! Keep crushing it girl!

— Sara W.

YES I AM BEYOND THRILLED TO HEAR THIS! Had I not assumed that she had already won MOTM, I would have started voting for her a long time ago. I first asked (I believe Greg) who JZ was when I saw her impressive score in the 2017 Spooky Total. We got to know each other during last year’s in house competition #WW and all I can say is this woman is a WORK HORSE. She is incredibly strong and destroys every metcon with a quiet smile on her face. Jeannine is a pleasure to work out with, whether it is in Oly, Crossfit, or Gymnastics. I enjoy watching her casual strict chest to bars during wods.

Jeannine is the ultimate athlete. So focused and so dedicated. Always in the zone. She embraces her strengths but also works on her weaknesses, and in addition is always supporting others. She is such a humble athlete, never acting like she is superior to anyone else, and it is one of the things that I love about her. I will say this, girl you need to give yourself some more credit! You may be the only person that I’ve told that it’s okay to brag a bit (to me, at least).

JZ keep doing you. I love working out with you, and whenever we are at the gym, you always push us to perform better.

By the way, nice traps!

— Emma G.

I’ve been so lucky to be on the same team as Jeannine in 3 in-house competitions and it’s impossible to think of a better teammate. She just crushes it every year and has an incredible team spirit.

So happy that she won. Yay Jeannine!!!

— Greg S.

Some words from the Coaches!

Jeannine is the person I point to when I talk about determination, resilience, and patience. We’ve worked together for years, and she continues to make huge strides forwards— a testament her willingness to work hard at the things she wants to improve. Combined with her quick smile and constant support of her classmates, JZ is an example of what people can be when they try hard to be good, all the time. Congratulations, not sure what took so long.

— Justin

Jeannine is a work horse! She regularly crushes the things that she’s good at, and consistently does that little extra to work on her weaknesses. I love having her in our barbell fundamentals program because it shows me she’s really committed to making the necessary changes to help make her a better athlete. She sets a great example for her community – well deserved!

— Morgan

Yay! Jeannine is a dedicated and amazing athlete! Super strong and committed! It’s been a pleasure watching her grow as an athlete. #luluslemons

— Luis

This is an amazing win. JZ is one of the few athletes to trek from another state and put in the work! She’s always pushing herself, and her work ethic is one to be replicated. Congrats.

— Tim

It speaks the caliber of athlete and human that JZ is that I can’t tell you how many people quietly asked me if she had won before and then were shocked that she hadn’t. To me that says two things, first – the regard that the person is held in the community (“surely, she has won before?”). However, the second part is more impressive, it says that her work ethic is so much assumed that it actually gets overlooked because that’s just who she is. And yes, you do not want to get between her and a pull up bar. Well done, JZ!

— Wylie
